CAN Academy is a workforce development initiative of Community Action NOW!, designed to create real opportunities for individuals in Georgia and the U.S. Virgin Islands. We provide free, high-quality skills training to help participants access stable, rewarding careers—particularly in communities that have faced historic barriers to employment.
Serving residents in Rockdale, Walton, Newton, Henry, DeKalb, and Gwinnett Counties in Georgia and the entire U.S. Virgin Islands, with planned expansion into Middle Georgia.
CAN Academy is a recognized training provider in the U.S. Virgin Islands, approved by the VIDOL Workforce Board.
We deliver practical, in-demand training programs that prepare individuals for growth sectors such as technology, business, and trades.
Through our partnership with Grow with Google, participants can access free training in IT support, data analytics, digital marketing, and more—earning industry-recognized certifications that open doors in today’s job market.
Beyond technical skills, we provide wraparound support to help participants overcome common employment barriers—because success takes more than just a certificate.

Training a stronger workforce.
CAN Academy USVI is a workforce development initiative. Our mission is to train a stronger workforce in the USVI. We provide certified training opportunities for displaced workers. CAN Academy trainings are approved by the Virgin Islands Department of Labor under the WIOA program. CAN Academy USVI is funded in part by the Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands Island Spirit Funds.
CAN Academy E. Metro Atlanta will launch in the March of 2023, serving 159 counties in the state of Georgia. Check back for details!
Through our CAN Academy program we offer workforce development trainings for displaced workers. We are a Certiport and USVI Department of Labor approved training and testing center. 2023 registration opens December 5, 2022, classes start January 2, 2023!
Youth Enrichment Program for children (Ages 5-15)
This program features STEAM technology curriculum.
Students take part in mini camps, afterschool and summer camps at the Romeo Malone Community Center in Savan. 2023 program registration begins April of 2023.
NewRock VI Pre-Arrest Diversion and Reentry pilot program is a comprehensive youth program focused on workforce and community development. Program participants:
Through a partnership with UVI CELL, program participants that can obtain their HS diploma. Program participants engage in goal setting career and education planning, life skills, Work ready training, financial literacy training as well as career certification training and job placement assistance.
Registration is ongoing until funds are depleted.
